1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work properly, to improve user experience, and to provide information to website owners. Some cookies are essential for a website to function, while others help us understand how visitors use the site or enable third-party features.

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Gurustacks uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

2. Cookies We Use

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the operation of the Platform. They enable core functionality such as user authentication, session management, and security features. These cookies cannot be disabled without breaking the Platform's functionality.

2.2 Analytics Cookies

We use analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Platform so we can improve the experience. Gurustacks uses two analytics providers:

Plausible Analytics is a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track users across websites. Plausible only records aggregated, anonymous page-view data. Because Plausible does not use cookies or process personal data, it does not require your consent.

Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how you use the Platform, including pages visited, time spent, referral source, and device and browser information. Google Analytics uses the cookies listed below. These cookies are only placed after you give your consent.

Google may transfer and process this data outside the EEA. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

2.3 Third-Party Embedded Content

The Platform may display embedded content from third-party services, most notably YouTube videos. When you view a page that contains an embedded YouTube video, Google may place cookies on your device even if you do not play the video. We use YouTube's "privacy-enhanced mode" (youtube-nocookie.com) where possible, which limits cookie placement until you interact with the video, but some data transfer to Google may still occur.

These cookies are governed by Google's privacy policy. You can manage your Google advertising and cookie settings at adssettings.google.com.

2.4 Payment Cookies

When you initiate a payment, Paddle (our payment processor) may place cookies necessary for processing the transaction, preventing fraud, and maintaining the checkout session. These are strictly necessary for the payment process and are governed by Paddle's Privacy Policy.

2.5 Affiliate Link Cookies

Stacks on Gurustacks may contain affiliate links to third-party tools and software. When you click an affiliate link, the destination website may place its own cookies to attribute the referral. These cookies are not placed by Gurustacks and are governed by the respective third party's cookie and privacy policies. Gurustacks and/or the Creator may earn a commission if you make a purchase through an affiliate link.

3. Your Cookie Choices

3.1 Cookie Consent Banner

When you first visit Gurustacks, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active because they are required for the Platform to function. You can change your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie settings link in the footer of any page.

3.2 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically set your browser to block or delete cookies, or to alert you when a cookie is being placed. Please note that blocking certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform. For instructions on managing cookies in your browser, visit your browser's help documentation or allaboutcookies.org.

3.3 Google Analytics Opt-Out

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

4. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is currently no universal standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals. Gurustacks does not currently respond to DNT signals, but we do use Plausible Analytics — which is inherently tracking-free — as a primary analytics tool, and we only place Google Analytics cookies with your explicit consent.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform and, where required, ask for your consent again. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.

6. Contact Us
